Mountain View Dermatology, PA

Dr. Vinson graduated from Xavier University with a Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy and LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed a Family Practice Residency at Martin Army Hospital, Fort Benning, GA and a Dermatology Residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He served previously as Chief of Dermatology and Ambulatory Care at the 121st General Hospital, Seoul, Korea and Chief of Dermatology, William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Fort Bliss, TX. He holds a faculty appointment at Texas Tech School of Medicine in El Paso and is actively engaged in teaching medical students and residents of different specialties. He has had numerous publications and currently serves as an Editor of the online Dermatology textbook at emedicine.medscape.com. 

Mark F. Peake, M.D.

Dr. Peake graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Psychology, the University of Houston with a Doctorate of Optometry, and Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He also graduated from the U.S. Army School of Aviation Medicine at Fort Rucker, Alabama and served as a Flight Surgeon for four years. He completed his Dermatology Residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. He served previously as Chief of Dermatology, Fort Sill, OK and Chief of Dermatology at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Fort Bliss, TX. After 23 years of proud service to his country, Dr. Peake retired from the Army in 2005 and joined Mountain View Dermatology. Dr. Peake holds a faculty appointment at Texas Tech School of Medicine in El Paso and is actively engaged in teaching medical students and residents of different specialties.

Martin B. Giandoni, M.D.

Graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point with an engineering degree and attended Medical School at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, Maryland. He finished his Dermatology Residency at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado. Additionally, Dr. Giandoni completed a Mohs Micrographic Surgery Fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX and has over 20 years experience in Mohs Surgery. Currently he is the only Fellowship-trained Mohs Micrographic Surgeon in El Paso, Tx.  Previous appointments include serving as Chief of Dermatology at W. Beaumont Army Medical Center and Chief of Mohs Micrographic Surgery at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center, Aurora, Colorado. After many years in private practice in the Denver, Colorado area, Dr. Giandoni joined Dr. Vinson and Dr. Peake here in El Paso at Mountain View Dermatology. Dr. Giandoni has had many publications and presentations and along with Dr. Vinson and Dr. Peake also teaches medical students and residents of different specialties from Texas Tech School of Medicine in El Paso.

Dr. Maddox graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology, the University of Alabama-Birmingham with a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy, and Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.  He completed his Dermatology Residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.  He served previously as Chief of Dermatology and Medical Specialties Clinic at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Fort Bliss, TX and Chief of Dermatology and the Department of Clinical Specialties at US Army Garrison, Vicenza, Italy.  Additionally, Dr. Maddox is a regular volunteer at the El Paso Baptist clinic in downtown El Paso and actively mentors medical students and residents on dermatology experience rotations.

Samuel Almquist, M.d.

Dr. Samuel Almquist graduated Magna Cum Laude at University of California, San Diego and attended medical school at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda Maryland. He completed his Dermatology Residency at the San Antonio Uniformed Service Health Education Consortium, is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.  Dr. Almquist has studied abroad in New Zealand, served as the brigade surgeon for 11th ADA at Ft. Bliss, served as a battalion surgeon in Kandahar, Afghanistan, served on a medical mission in Haiti for humanitarian support and serves on staff at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Department of Dermatology.  

Frank Celis, FNP-BC

Francisco "Frank" Celis received a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from the University of Texas at El Paso and a graduate degree from Texas Tech University of Health Sciences. He is board certified and licensed as a Family Nurse Practitioner. While in the Army he obtained additional training and experience in dermatology. Frank is qualified to perform comprehensive dermatologic exams and diagnose and treat appropriate medical therapy for all dermatologic conditions. If any questions arise, there is always one of our board certified Dermatologists available for him to consult. He is skilled at performing procedures such as skin biopsies and cryotherapy. Frank has over 20 years of experience in the dermatology field. 

Yessenia Callender, PA-C

Yessenia Callender graduated Salutatorian from Socorro High School and Magna Cum Laude at the University of Texas at El Paso with a degree in Microbiology. She went on to receive a Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She has been certified since 2013 through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed through the Texas Physician Assistant Board. She has had experience in emergency medicine and urgent care but Dermatology has been her true passion and interest. She is experienced in diagnosing dermatological conditions and developing/implementing treatment plans. She has worked closely with the Board-Certified Dermatologists at Mountain View Dermatology since 2018 and they are readily available for her to consult if needed.

Francisco Trejo, PA-C

Francisco Trejo a proud Bel Air Highlander, has been a medical practitioner since 1998 and is a graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, Inter-Service Physician Assistant program. During the completion of over 20 years service in the United States Air Force, he practiced medicine in a wide range of settings to include family medicine, emergency/urgent care, occupational medicine, and women's care. He is fluent in Spanish and has traveled to the Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Guatemala as part of medical humanitarian trips. Becoming a full time Dermatology provider in Tucson, AZ since 2008, he has mentored family medicine residents, physician assistant, nurse practitioner and pharmacy students. Returning home in 2021, he enjoys rekindling his love of El Paso with his class of '86 high school sweetheart and wife. He enjoys spending time with his 3 boys and tinkering around with his Corvairs and '67 International pickup. 

Taylor Ortega-Calzadillas, PA-C

Taylor Ortega-Calzadillas is originally from La Mesa, New Mexico.  She graduated from New Mexico State University with Honors and went on to earn her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Saint Francis.  She has been certified, licensed, and practicing since 2019, beginning her career in Internal Medicine and transitioning to Dermatology.  She has enjoyed every minute of her dermatology career over the past years, from acne to skin cancer screenings, diagnostics, and treatment.  She has relocated back to the area to be closer to family after spending her last few years practicing in Northern New Mexico.  She enjoys working in a collaborative setting with Board-Certified Dermatologists and other colleagues who are available to consult at any time.  In her spare time, she and her husband spend time with their Wire Fox Terrier, Murph, on the family farm.  She also enjoys gardening and traveling, especially for concerts and good food.
